SIFA was established in 1992 to encourage and support interaction between legal and financial advisers, providing marketing, training, compliance and business development services to advisers both within and outside the professions.

SIFA's belief is that linking with financial advisers who share the professional culture, enables solicitors to differentiate their practices by providing an enhanced client service, which also assists them to regain the pivotal role of trusted advisers.
Like other members of the Group, SIFA provides specialist financial services compliance support but has also created a select category of SIFA membership known as SIFA Professional, for SIFA members who wish to work closely with other professions and who satisfy criteria sufficient for them to be listed on SIFA’s Law Society endorsed ‘Directory’ of professional financial advisers which is accessed via the Law Society’s website.
SIFA’s expertise in the legal/financial market is second to none, with a 25 year track record of working with the legal and financial services professions. By providing compliance and business development services to solicitors, who as a result of the Legal Services Act are now subject to FCA-style principles-based regulation, SIFA is able to pave the way for relationships with SIFA Professional firms.
