Simplybiz sees 800 advisers sign up to virtual events

SimplyBiz has seen more than 800 member firms sign up to be part of its virtual events, within a week of them launching.

SimplyBiz’s virtual events service uses video conferencing technology to enable advisers to watch a series of live sessions as well as interact with presenters and other delegates attending the live event.

The events platform allows advisers to attend a virtual exhibition centre for short briefings and also has a live chat facility for any questions after the event has finished.

All of the events offer structured CPD learning.

The learning and development events, protection roadshows and investment advice events will continue running throughout May, June and July.

Additional events, such as mortgage workshops, best practice and business evolution events and specialist technology and soft skills training sessions, will be added to the platform on a weekly basis.

Richard Ardron, marketing director of The SimplyBiz Group, said: “We worked hard to ensure that our virtual event experience captured as many of the benefits of face-to-face events as possible, in addition to watching the presentations, networking with other delegates, visiting the exhibition area, the ability to interact with our expert presenters and pose any questions about the session.

“We have moved very quickly, and invested where necessary, to enhance our support at this time and, as part of this support we have moved the largest event programme of its kind onto a brand-new virtual platform.”

Earlier this month, SimplyBiz put in place a support package for adviser and broker firms who use the group’s services.

The package offers support in seven areas: managing cashflow, servicing clients remotely, accessing financial support, diversifying revenue streams, learning, staying informed and maintaining mental wellbeing.

Other measures offered include a three month ‘payment holiday’, free access to software allowing advisers and brokers to service clients remotely and guidance on how to access the financial support available from the government.
