The SimplyBiz Group was created in 2002 when Chairman Ken Davy recognised the value of enabling financial advisers to seize more control of their own business. At the time, the majority of financial advisers ran their business under the umbrella of a Network, operating as appointed representatives. Although advisers were effectively business owners in their own right, networks imposed a highly constrictive regime of rules and regulation uniformly, regardless of each of their Member Firm’s individual make up and needs.
Based upon his thirty plus years of experience in the financial services sector, Ken firmly believed that the future for advisers was direct authorisation through the regulator, removing the need for a middle tier of regulation in the form of Networks. However, increasingly strict industry regulation meant that many advisers who were directly authorised were now spending too much time meeting complex compliance requirements and not enough on what they did best – advising clients SimplyBiz was designed with the idea that advisers could retain control of how they operated and defined their business model, whilst benefiting from the support and guidance SimplyBiz provided in every element of their business, from ensuring they operated within the rules and guidelines set out by the regulator to identifying prospective clients and growing their business.
Today, The SimplyBiz Group comprises of a range of companies all connected by the same objective; to give financial advisers the support, tools and resources to grow and develop a successful business whilst delivering the very best advice to their clients.
